Faith

Below you will find two definitions that Google uses to define the word faith. Then below each definition you'll see scripture from the New international version Bible that you can use the preceding definition to substitute for the word faith. Try it and see if the scripture hits different.

FAITH
1. complete trust or confidence in someone or something.

-For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
Ephesians 2:8 NIV
-“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered.
Mark 11:22 NIV
-And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:6 NIV
-know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.
Galatians 2:16 NIV

FAITH
2. strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.
-For we live by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV
-Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1 NIV
-By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Hebrews 11:3 NIV
-fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2 NIV

These are just a few scriptures where you can take the two definitions of faith and substitute them for the word and hopefully get a better understanding of faith.

After God put the word faith in my spirit, number one it stuck and then everywhere I turned, everything I listened to was talking about faith. Even now it is continuing to resonate with me to just dig deeper to seek more understanding of faith. The entire first chapter of Hebrews is all about faith! Faith means something. Faith is required. Faith has everything to do with your relationship with Christ, even in relationships with other people. Faith is believing in something. Even if someone doesn't believe in God or in Jesus they have faith in something. Meaning things that we believe in, put our hope in, trust in, or have confidence in. Everyone has faith in something but oh to have faith in God the outcome is amazing. There are those who never saw some of the things that they were believing God for. Read Hebrews 1. However, it wasn't just them having faith. It wasn't just them believing. It wasn't just them trusting. It wasn't just them having confidence in God. They showed it in their actions, in their worship, in their service to God. They didn't just believe in what he said they acted upon it. When God said go they didn't just believe they could go, they actually went and this is what pleased God.

Have faith in God. Where is your faith? What do you believe and how do people know it and how does God know it?
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
James 2:17 NIV

-And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:6 NIV
Faith!
Father God I thank you that your burden is easy and your yoke is light when we are yoked with Christ and I pray for every person reading this right now may the testing of their faith produce perseverance may they seek you like never before and may their faith grow may they have faith in you God like never before and like they've never had anything else. Help us to increase in our faith and help us in our unbelief in Jesus name amen.
